      Hi

      Thanks for your inquiry.

Yes a J2 can purchase a plan alone if the J1 already has coverage. You can buy our Plan B Taian Patriot Exchange or or Plan S, Taian Exchange Select. All three deductibles and any benefit level of $100,000 or higher will meet all of the J visa insurance requirements.

Please visit this webpage to buy:

      http://www.j1insurance.net/blog/buy-j1-visa-insurance/

Just click the “Buy Now” button and complete the application. After you complete your application and pay you will receive an email “Declaration of Insurance”. It will contain a link to a “Visa Letter”. Your Declaration of Insurance and Visa Letter can be used to prove you have coverage that meets the J visa requirements. The email will be sent a few minutes after your application is completed. If you don’t receive it, please check your “Spam” email.

      – Deductible cannot exceed $500 per illness or injury
      – Medical evacuation coverage must be at least $50,000
      – Repatriation coverage must be at least $25,000

is the AXA a valid insurace for the j1 visa?

    1. // Reply

      Hi,

      Thanks for your interest!
I’m going to need some more information before I can answer your question. AXA offers a lot of different insurance plans. If you’d like to send me a summary of the coverage I can probably help you. Also, it’s important to know who your visa sponsor is. Some sponsors have coverage requirements like the US Department of State. Some require more coverage.

You can send me information as a response here, or I will also send you an email and you can respond directly to that.

We will be pleased to assist you!

      Thanks,

After 8 months of stay in the US my J2 dependent decided to have a vacation for 3 months outside the US. Does he still need to continue his insurance during the time that his outside the US?

    1. // Reply

      Hi,

Your J2 can choose to continue their coverage during their vacation outside the US. So long as they are traveling to a country that is not their home country, the insurance would still cover them.

Some J visa sponsors will require them to keep their J visa insurance active for the entire time of their DS-2019 even if they leave the country.

If neither of those situations apply, they could let their coverage lapse and buy a new plan when they return to the US.

is there any plan which she can avail ?
Can we buy two different Plans?.
    Looking forward to your reply
    Thanks

      Hi,

I don’t have any plans that will cover a maternity if you are already pregnant. You and your wife are still eligible to buy TaiAn Patriot Exchange or TaiAn Exchange select on this page: http://www.j1insurance.net/blog/buy-j1-visa-insurance/

The plans will cover you for illness or injury (not the pregnancy) and will meet the insurance requirements of the J visa.

Hi, my child is a newborn and he is coming with me as J-2. As new born he has to have periodical pediatric exams and laboratory tests. Is this covered by this kind of insurances? Or which kind of plan do we need?
    Thank you!

Thanks for your question. Our plans for J-2 visa holders are here: http://www.j1insurance.net/blog/buy-j2-visa-insurance/

These plans cover illness and injury. They don’t cover wellness care or immunizations. Plans that cover wellness benefits and immunizations generally cost $200-$300 per month or more. Many people find they can pay for these benefits themselves and still end out paying less in total.

      Thanks,
