    Hello.
My son, doctor in medicine, 30 years old, has to stay for one year in Mayo Clinic in Minnesota (Rochester) to continue his specialization in urology.
My son has a motorial disability.
Can he apply to TaiAn Patriot Exchange standard short-term travel Option D, $250 deductible (per period) at $84.43 per month ?
I don’t see in any brochure/booklet the word disability …
If he can’t apply to this type of health insurance, could you let me know who ensure people with motorial disability in compliance with J1-Visa ?
    Thank you

      Hi,

      Thanks for your interest!

So long as your disability does not interfere with day to day normal functioning or ability to be self sufficient (the definition of Disability in the Policy), you are eligible to purchase.

Any claims related to the disability would be considered a pre-existing medical condition and would not be covered during the pre-existing conditions waiting period. Other illness or injury would would be covered.

      Thanks,

      J1insurance.net

      Hi,

Our plans will meet the requirements for Mayo Clinic and the US Department of State.

You can apply for Plan B as a family, or you can apply separately. Plan B does not cover maternity expenses. If you want coverage for maternity you can consider Platinum Plan A.

Details for Plan B are here:

    Hi, I have a question.

I`m from Brazil, I`m a medical doctor (28 years old) and I will be doing a one-year research fellow at MGH. I do not have any medical issue or history of illness.

Any suggestion about the best insurance fits the MHG requirements and my basic needs of medical attention (nothing specific).

    Thanks,
    Ronaldo

      Hi Ronaldo,

      Thanks for your interest!

Your requirements are the US Department of State requirements for J visa holders. Our Plan B (TaiAn Patriot Exchange) or Plan S (TaiAn Exchange Select) can meet all of the requirements. These are the requirements:

      – $100,000 per accident & illness in medical coverage
      – Deductible cannot exceed $500 per illness or injury
      – Medical evacuation coverage must be at least $50,000
      – Repatriation coverage must be at least $25,000

Please visit: http://www.j1insurance.net/blog/buy-j1-visa-insurance/ for more details. There is a purchase link on that webpage too.

If you do make the decision to make this purchase, any of the deductible options meet the requirements. Also, choose the maximum per accident & illness no less than $100,000.

The $250 annual deductible Plan B with a $100,000 benefit per illness or injury will cost $824.40 for a year of coverage for a 25-49 year old.

The lowest cost plan that meets the requirements is the Plan S with a $500 deductible and a $100,000 benefit per illness or accident. This one costs less because it has 20% coinsurance. A year of coverage will cost $644.52 for a 25-49 year old.

If you have questions please feel free to contact us through email or by phone.

We have many plans that are good for F1 visa holders.  Some F1 visa holders have specific requirements for their coverage based on the school they are attending.  If you’d like us to determine if this applies to you, please let us know the school name and location.
J1insurance.net/blog works with Taian to offer special plans at low premium rates.  Taian Special Group provides insurance for international students with a 10% discount on premiums when compared to individual policies. All Taian Special Group Plans are good for F visa holders. Taian Patriot Exchange Plan B Group is the most popular group plan. You can choose TaiAn plan B, 0 Deductible with 10% off so that you have no deductible to pay if you have claims, or you can choose TaiAn plan B, $250 deductible with 10% off to save some more premium costs.

For the Plan B with $0 deductible you can buy for the year, and renew up to 4 years. With a 10% discount a year will cost $909.32 each adult age of 25-49 and cost $664.40 for age under 25.

For the Plan B with $250 deductible you can buy for the year (and renew up to 4 years). With a 10% discount it will cost $712.64 each adult age of 25-49 and cost $532.64 for age under 25. This is the more popular plan.
We also offer the lower cost Taian Exchange Select Group (Plan S) which lowers the cost because there is coinsurance where you pay a share of the medical claims cost.
You can register and make your payment on this website: https://www.taianfinancial.com/applications/taian-group
